Practice Max EHR and Practice Management Firm Buys Analytics/Clinical Trials Data Company Medi-data

Well if a medical records company doesn’t have a full on offering of analytics today I guess they buy one.  Medi-data is also involved in the clinical trial business which is where everyone wants to have access to medical records with the data being recorded with them. 
I do have to say that I have never seen a time where there is such a glut of software in healthcare.  I know everyone needs the opportunity to build their business, no problem there but as you can see here the overcrowding I think leading to even more action in the mergers and acquisitions side of things.  I just wonder at times how the code’s all going to work.  Obviously it makes sense to have “like” or similar systems work but we don’t always see that.  It gets tougher all the time with the large groups of subsidiaries that are growing as well to really see where some huge conglomerates focus.  BD

PracticeMax, Scottsdale, Ariz., acquired Medi-Data Service, a Naperville, Ill.-based medical management firm.
Financial terms weren't disclosed. The deal expands the Midwest presence of PracticeMax, which develops software and offers billing and consulting services. Medi-Data, located in Chicago's suburbs, is more than 30 years old and has provided billing and practice management services to physician groups, individual physicians and hospital-owned practices.
